Laura huang a famous harvard business school professor shows that success is about gaining an edge: that elusive quality that attracts attention and support. Some people seem to have it naturally. Now, huang teaches the rest of us how to create our own and keep it sharp. We have prepared a summary  for you here  ! And if you like it, run to your  favorite bookstore. Introduction other people have their perceptions on us. Right or wrong. When we understand the power that these perceptions have and learn to use them to our advantage, we create an advantage, based on our way of being and we open doors for ourselves instead of waiting for someone else to do it for us. Sometimes, our characteristics can be seen as adversities, but the idea is that even these can be transformed into advantages.

You can leverage your personality, your strengths, and even your weaknesses to create a unique advantage. To do this, the path involves understanding four major capabilities: (1) generating value for others (enrich); (2) to create the opportunity Bahamas Phone Number  to generate value (delight); (3) managing your self-perception and others’ perception of you (guide); (4) of working hard in the right direction (effort). Part 1: about generating value: chapter 1: hard work, but not only. We learn from an early age that if we work hard, we will achieve what we want. But we all know incredibly dedicated people who didn't get there. To obtain results, it is essential to put energy in the right direction. And one of the components of this direction is the ability to understand the impact that other people's perceptions have on us. Perceptions strongly influenced by the automatic mental system of human beings and which end up generating a biased social system, often hindering us.

Of course we need to fight the system when it acts in a biased way, but we need to be aware that the system will not change overnight, and that therefore, as we fight to change the system, we need to understand the game as it is played. And learn how to use its characteristics to our advantage, positioning our “sails” so that the wind propels us in the direction we want. Principle 1: hard work should be enough, but it isn't. Chapter 2: your core assets. To bring an advantage to you, your team and your organization, you need to focus on two components: (1) being able to generate value for someone; (2) ensure that other people realize this value. And the best way to achieve this is through your essence. You don't need to (and won't be able to) be good at everything.
